HW: Finish the following worksheet and add the 7 vocabulary words and definitions into your UNIT 2 Vocabulary list

Your task is to write two positive impacts and two negative impacts for EACH of these geographic features: plain, mountain, desert, river，  sea and ocean. 你的任务是这六个地理的特征： 平原， 山地， 沙漠， 河流， 海 和大洋。 每个写两个正面的影响和两个负面的影响。

Example: Mountains can be negative for people because they are hard to get around, so it takes longer if you are traveling past a mountain (ONE NEGATIVE THERE) but that can be a positive impact too because it keeps people you don’t want around away from you (ONE POSITIVE THERE). ***Remember, you need two +s and two -s.

river: a body of water that flows into a larger body of water

sea : a large body of saltwater that is surrounded in whole or in part by land

ocean : a large body of saltwater that covers nearly three fourths of the surface of the Earth

plain: a broad area of flat land

mountain: a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land
desert: a hot and dry area of land with little rain or vegetation (plants)
geographic feature: naturally occurring landforms, bodies of water, ecosystem, or climates
